Getting Started
Choose Your Weapon:
Experiment and Have Fun: Monster Hunter Rise offers 14 different weapon types. From the speedy Dual Blades to the powerful GreatSword, each weapon has its own unique playstyle. Don’t be shy, try them all and see what clicks! if you want to change weapons you only have to head to your hunter’s chest, select equipment, and change your weapon!
Training Area: Head to the Training Area to practice your moves and combos. You can access the Training Area from your room in Kamura Village. Speak to the Housekeeper, and they will transport you directly there. It’s a great place to get a feel for each weapon without the pressure of a real hunt.
Meet Your Buddies:
Palamute: This loyal canine companion can be ridden for fast travel and will fight alongside you. Customize your Palamute and make the most of its abilities.
Palico: Your feline friend, the Palico, provides support in various ways, like healing and setting traps. They’re not just cute—they’re super helpful!
The Wirebug: The Wirebug is a versatile tool that lets you zip through the air, climb walls, and perform special attacks. Mastering the Wirebug will make you more agile and open up new strategies in combat.
Village and Hub Quests
Start with Village Quests:
Solo Adventures: To start a Village Quest, head over to Hinoa the Quest Maiden, who is located in the center of Kamura Village near the quest board. Speak with her to access the Village Quests menu, where you can select and start quests designed for solo play. These quests are a great way to familiarize yourself with the game mechanics and monster behaviors. They’re a bit easier and help you build confidence as you prepare for tougher challenges.
Move to Hub Quests:
A bit harder now?: Hub Quests are designed for multiplayer, but you can tackle them solo too. They’re more challenging and offer better rewards, to start a hub quest you just have to enter the guild and speak to Minoto inside the guild, she’s located on the right side as soon as you get in!
Gather Your Friends: Playing with friends or joining online sessions can make Hub Quests more fun and manageable. Communication and teamwork are key!
Basic Tips and Tricks
Prepare for the Hunt:
Stock Up: Before heading out, make sure you have enough potions, traps, and other essentials. Visit the Market and Crafting areas in Kamura Village to stock up and craft useful items. At the start of each mission, you’ll find a supply box that contains potions and other consumables, as well as rations to boost your stamina. Make sure to grab these freebies—they’re there to help you!
Eat a Meal: Don’t forget to eat a meal at the Tea Shop before a hunt. Meals provide buffs that can increase your health, stamina, and other stats. Additionally, you can eat a dango inside the tent at the start of a mission. This tasty treat will further boost your physical attributes, giving you an edge in battle.
Know Your Enemy:
Study Monsters: Each monster has its own strengths and weaknesses. Pay attention to their behavior and attack patterns. Use the Hunter’s Notes to learn about their weak points and preferred habitats. You can access the Hunter’s Notes from the main menu by pressing the “+” button, then navigating to “Hunter’s Notes.” This section provides valuable information on monsters, including their elemental weaknesses and breakable parts.
Upgrade Your Gear:
Craft and Enhance: Use materials from monsters to craft and upgrade your weapons and armor. Stronger gear makes tougher hunts more manageable. To upgrade your gear you just have to make your way to the village blacksmith located at the center of the Kamura village!
